And, Yet

“And, Yet” is a multidisciplinary series by Mingzhang Sun inspired by the quiet memory of a vanished village. In this series, Mingzhang Sun reflects on the meeting point between tradition and the present. Centrally anchored and suspended, his work shows how emotion meets the rigidity of solid structures and how it shapes us, while something within still searches for balance, holding tension where softness meets form.

About the Artist:

Mingzhang Sun (b. 1990) is a London-based multidisciplinary artist and RCA scholar. Originally from China, his practice spans painting, fashion, and soft sculpture. An alumnus of CAFA and UAL, Sun has received the 2013 CAFA President's Choice and 2017 UAL Excellence in Design awards. His work blends traditional techniques with contemporary performance to explore the fragility of human belonging.
